called the meeting to order at 7:22

Steve Perez.
David Mathis
led the Pledge.
The Board reviewed the December
17, 2007 minutes.
On a motion by John Doiron and 2nd
by James Ossont the minutes were accepted as read.

On a motion by David Mathis and 2nd
by Frank Reid the board opened the public hearing on the Fire Protection
Contract in the amount of $47,170.00 at 7:23

The was no public comment.
On a Motion by John Doiron and 2nd
by Frank Reid the public hearing was closed at 7:25.

David Mathis signed a letter for
Alex Stempien authorizing him to open new accounts for the Justice.
The board received a copy of the
letter of resignation submitted to the Secretary of State by Sandra Richards
effective at the end of her term December 31, 2007.
Public forum: Duane Ulrich
reported that the OHSWA was scheduled to re-appoint Barb Freeman to the board,
but tabled the matter for the next meeting. Now would be a good time for
someone from the Town of Ava to try and get a position on the OHSWA board.
Carol Beckwith is still interested
in the Town Clerk position.
Sandra Richards thanked Dave
Mathis and Alex Stempien for their years of service to the town and welcomed
the new board members, Steve Perez and David Rundle and the new supervisor
James Ossont.
Mr. Mathis thanked the clerk for
her eight years of service to the town.
Mr. Reid also wanted to thank Mr.
Mathis and Mr. Stempien for their leadership during the difficult times
fighting the landfill.

by James Ossont the board approved the highway bills numbered 172-176 in the
amount of $9030.13
